Facing the mirror in the morning and feeling intense relief at seeing that all those awful red zits are gone forever is a wonderful experience. However, that feeling of happiness may be short-lived upon seeing some scars which acne disorder managed to leave on ones face and body. These unsightly acne scars may actually look like potholes on a paved road, while the more severe scars resemble an open pit mine roughly burrowed for several feet deep. This is why most dermatologists recommend a two process approach to acne treatment and these are medication, or surgery in extreme cases, and acne scar removal.

Any form of skin disorder, especially in the case of acne, when completely treated, leaves a scar on the surface of the skin. Though there are acnes which leave only light marks on the skin after treatment and usually dissipate after a period of time, there are really severe forms of acne that leave nasty scars on the skin which would already require an acne scar removal therapy.

There are a lot of acne scar removal treatments to choose from, each with varying degrees of efficacy. There are natural methods which involve the use of protein found in fruits and vegetables, and there are also synthetic methods that make use of scientific medications or techniques normally performed in doctors clinics. The efficacy of these acne scar removal treatments may depend on the body metabolism of the patient.

Some of them may have a higher rate of regenerative chemicals in their bodies which results in faster healing of scars, while others may need a longer time to heal. This is why that before spending a lot of money on synthetic acne scar removal, it is always a good idea to try the natural methods first because it might bring about the desired effects after a period of time.

When scars appear on the surface of the skin, elasticity on the affected area is lost. Since collagen is the main protein of connective tissues which enhances elasticity and strength, increasing the amount of collagen in ones body would greatly help in regenerating damaged tissue and promoting skin growth to remove, or at least, hide the scars.

One can increase collagen in the body by eating plenty of fruits vegetables, and also drinking lots of water. Acne scar removal through natural means is a lengthy process and so the patient must make it a point to eat healthy foods everyday, particularly those that are rich in collagen, like, tomatoes for instance, which helps soften the skin.

Cucumbers also helps in tightening the skin when regularly placed on the affected area for approximately ten minutes.

The other form of acne scar removal is by removing the damaged skin cells through a process called microdermabrasion. Though this synthetic method is a little bit expensive, the patient will almost immediately experience desirable results. Although, if the scars are too deep, it may take several years of acne scar removal treatment using microdermabrasion for the scar to be completely gone.

Before looking for a treatment method, most of these people have experienced several years of acne occurrences and face scarring caused by the condition and would like the removal method to repair their face to its original appearance. The marketing of these treatments has grown into a multimillion dollar industry and continues to increase each year as a greater number of treatments are added and more people feel the need to purchase the products.

There are Many Types Of Treatments

There are several types of products for removing scars available, these manufactured by quite a few different companies. Treatments for acne scar removal, can contain drugs, can be natural, or be a topical compound that modifies the way the facial skin is working to cure the condition. The type of treatment method chosen depends on the individuals particular choice, how severe their problem is and the level of damage that acne scarring has caused to the face. Price may also be a reason for choosing a treatment as some treatment methods are less expensive than others.

The most typical type of acne scar removal treatment used today is a treatment that has a medication to trigger the regeneration of the facial skin in the scarred places. These products can be purchased over the counter at many different outlets, including general grocery stores, convenience type shops and drug stores. Strong drug medications can only be purchased with a prescription to prevent misuse and using too much of the medication. A lot of people do not want to use an acne scar removal treatment that contains medication because of the high chemical content.

A natural scar reducing product will contain herbs and minerals obtained from nature to help regeneration of the skin. A natural acne scar removal treatment can be bought at locations such as grocery stores, chemist shops, or stores that stock all natural products.

Topical ointments that are used as an acne scar removal treatment are placed directly on the areas that are scarred. These creams can target exact areas of the skin for repair, they add moisture to the skin, and have special properties to stop the recurrence of acne in that area. Since acne is a rather common condition – especially during the teenage years – many methods have been created to deal with it and the potential scarring that might stay for a lifetime. Nowadays you can find a myriad of products and specialized treatments all promising to help you get rid of acne scars for good, but what is the most effective acne scar removal treatment?

These days, the most effective method to get rid of acne marks is laser resurfacing. Thanks to this method, deep layers of the skin are burnt with the laser, allowing a re-growth of fresh, healthier skin. Unlike previously preferred methods such as dermabrasion and chemical peels, this is a very precise treatment since the laser only burns damaged tissue. Don’t forget though, that it is extremely important to choose a qualified doctor who will be in charge of determining the precise spots for treatment.

The way laser acne scar removal works, allows the healing of deep scars, that can’t be erased with mild treatments and the use of over-the-counter products such as scar removal gels and creams. Also, there are more advantages to this procedure, for example, the healing time is greatly reduced compared to other invasive methods. It usually requires a week of healing, but it can last a few more days depending on various factors. Bleeding with this method is also much more controlled, you have to keep in mind that since layers of the skin are burnt, a certain amount of pain could be felt, however for this purpose doctors inject local anesthesia.

There are different types of lasers used in this effective acne scar removal treatment such as erbium laser, smoothbeam laser or CO2 laser. The use of them will be determined by your doctor. The doctor will also evaluate if you are a good candidate for this type of acne scar removal procedure. People with highly sensitive skin should stay away from laser resurfacing because they will not respond well to the recovery phase, where they are required to take some medications.

Laser treatment is your best alternative to get rid of acne scarring; however, you should know that it is also the most expensive option. The cost for this treatment can cost up to $6000 and currently insurance companies do not offer any type of coverage for these cases. In any case, to get exact pricing it would be best to make an appointment with a specialist.

Lee Berke invites you to learn more about other acne scar removal, and look for options that may be of great help in your case. In the site, you will also find a lot of informaion on different acne scar products and treatment costs.

Do you remember when you were a teenager standing in front of the mirror and staring at the huge zit on your face? I’m sure you can remember the self-conscious feeling and wondering how your acne got there. You probably also remember wondering how were you going to get it off of your face before somebody actually sees it! If you have a teenager that is experiencing acne, you are going to have to show some sympathy the next time they ask for five bucks to go get another bottle of acne medication, cream or face wash. The unfortunate part about acne is no one really knows what causes it, although scientists think a hormone called androgen plays a significant role. Androgen acts as a stimulant to the sebum-producing glands. Shortly after puberty, boys produce 10 times as much androgen as girls. It is for this main reason that boys usually have more severe acne and need a good acne treatment.
Eighty five percent of the US population between the ages of 12 and 25 develop some type of acne. For boys, acne starts around the age of 13 and girls, age 11. Although there is no documented scientific evidence that junk food or greasy foods cause acne, it doesn’t hurt to keep an eye on your teen after they eat these foods to see if their acne is affected. Once acne is detected, most use a good acne medication or at least develop better personal hygiene habits to help combat its spread.
There is also no direct evidence that oily skin or hair causes acne but if your teen is experiencing more pimples or blackheads under their bangs, it may be a good idea to change their hairstyle. Also, approximately 70% of all women notice their acne worsens the week before their period begins. Stress also seems to be a factor in acne breakouts, but there is no scientific evidence to back this up. Finding the best acne treatments and having perseverance with good personal hygiene is the best way to combat teenage acne.

There are many people all over the world who are looking for acne scarring treatment that deals effectively with scars on their face. These scars have been caused due to acne. There are many people who would have had to suffer from acne during their adolescent years. Later they manage to get the acne treated successfully, and they would have found ugly looking scars, which are still remaining on their face. Some people would have had a very severe attack of acne while some others would have picking and pinching the acne that was present on their face. This was during a time when no kind of acne scarring treatment was available.

Acne is a hereditary problem in some families and such people would have been suffering from acne for very long periods of time. But today there are many different forms of treatment available for the acne scarring treatment. These treatments will help in refreshing the skin and making it soft and smooth once again.

Laser treatment and light therapy are two of the most common forms of acne scarring treatment. Every kind of treatment for acne scarring has its own advantages as well as disadvantages and it is difficult to decide which kind of treatment is better.

Blue light therapy – This is a more advanced form of light therapy treatment for acne scars. This is very effective in the removal of acne scars. The skin is exposed to a kind of blue light, which helps in destroying the bacteria, which are responsible for the formation of acne. This process is not at all painful and the treated part of the skin will stay red for a short period of time.

Pulsed light and heat energy – pulsed light as well as heat energy is used in the form of a combination which will help in destroying all the oil glands which are present on the surface of the skin. The oil glands in the skin are the main reasons for the occurrence of acne. Once these glands have been removed, then the amount of acne, which is produced, will be much less. This method is also useful in the acne scarring treatment, which are relatively mild.

Diode laser treatment – In this form of treatment for acne scars, a laser will directly penetrate and reach the middle layers of the skin without involving the outer layers. This will directly act on the cause of the acne. This is a very effective method of acne scarring treatment.

Laser treatment and light therapy are usually the best method of acne scarring treatment since they will destroy the front layer of the skin and make way for new and fresh skin which will take the place of the old skin. This is very useful since the scars, which are caused due to acne, can sometimes be very deep.

So you have finally got rid of the acne, but what do you do about the scars?

With acne affecting about 25 percent of adults – and roughly 80 percent of people in their teens and 20’s – the desire for an effective acne scar treatment is widespread. Many people recover from acne without any permanent effects, but others are left with disfiguring acne scars. There are a variety of acne products and medicines that can improve mild scarring, but sever acne scars must be treated by a dermatologist, using a combination of surgical procedures and skin abrasion therapy.

Acne occurs when pores in the skin become plugged with oil, bacteria and dead skin cells. Bacteria grows inside the plugged follicle, creating red, pus-filled red bumps. Hormonal changes during the teen years (exacerbated by stress in both teens and adults) cause increased oil production that contributes to the problem. Most serious scarring is caused by the more severe forms of acne, with large pustules that are more likely to leave permanent scars, even with regular acne treatment. The best way to deal with adult acne is to begin using acne products as soon as the acne appears, this preventing more acne and more scarring.

After an acne lesion has healed, it may leave a red mark on the skin. This, however, isn’t a scar – it’s a post-inflammatory change in the skin’s pigment as it goes through its healing process, and will slowly fade over approximately 6 to 12 months. If a good acne treatment program is followed and no more acne develops in that area, the skin can heal normally. Only if a change remains after a year is it considered a scar.

The best way to prevent scarring and pigmentary changes from adult acne is to is to prevent acne from occurring in the first place. If you have serious scarring from adult acne, however, you have a acne scar treatment options. The most state-of-the-art method for treating acne scars is laser resurfacing, which can be done by your dermatologist. The laser removes the damaged top layer of skin, leaving skin smoother. Treatments can take anywhere from a few minutes to an hour, and the patient is given a local anesthetic to lessen pain. It usually takes between three and 10 days after a treatment for the skin to heal completely.

The more traditional acne scar treatment treating acne scarring is dermabrasion, which uses an abrasive disc to wear down the surface of the skin, much like when you sand down a piece of wood. As the skin heals, a new, smoother layer replaces the abraded skin. It takes between 10 days and three weeks for skin to heal between treatments. Both of these types of treatments will take multiple trips to the dermatologist, and will cause the skin to turn red several months. Acne cannot be active – meaning you can’t have any pustules or blackheads – when these treatments are done. Depending on the severity of your scars, your dermatologist may also suggest a mild chemical peel or microdermabrasion as an acne scar treatment, both of which are done in the doctor’s office.

In some cases, a doctor may recommend surgery for deep acne scars, or collagen injections that displace the damaged tissue. This treatment works well on the scars that are not too deep, but it needs to be repeated periodically. In the most severe cases of acne scars, your doctor may recommend plastic surgery. Plastic surgery as an acne scar treatment is an expensive option, and it has the added problem that, should you have problems with acne in the future, you have less layers of skin and new scars could be even worse.

Whether you choose dermabrasion or a chemical peel, they all work by removing the top layer of skin. So right after treatment, the skin is sensitive and unprotected. This can be an issue if you need to go outside a lot. Dust and strong winds can damage newly abraded skin as well. After you have had treatment for acne scars, you should only use acne products specially formulated for sensitive skin. There are many effective acne scar treatments and there is no reason to leave your scars untreated. Do your research, make an appointment with your dermatologist and be sure, that there is a treatment that can remove your acne scars or make them much less noticeable.
