It is a fact that acne is one of the most common skin problems prevalent among teens and adults. Many people are bothered when it suddenly form and erupt into the skin.

When the pores on your skin are clogged, you probably get acne. It may be caused by the rising hormone levels. You are more likely to suffer from it if there is family history of this disease. It can occur anywhere on the body, most often appearing on the face and shoulders.

Although acne usually goes better after adolescence, some may last into middle age. You may succeed with a good condition if following an effective treatment, but some may flare up from time to time. If you left it untreated or improperly dealt with, it will come to a real problem. It will leave the permanent scars and marks on the skin.

Eliminating it could be hard and very challenging. In these days there are many anti-acne treatments and procedures, but some of them may not work well. When you pick up these products and procedures, you should avoid products with almond or apricot shell fragments which can irritate or even tear your skin and further aggravate your acne.

Many people may not know proper sun exposure can improve acne. But you should avoid excessive exposure to sunlight or ultraviolet rays because it increases the risk of skin cancer which is much worse than acne.

Effective treatments are available in these days; therefore you do not need to feel desperate when you are dealing with it. You should choose a treatment which works best to you and then follow your procedure strictly.

Is ACNE stopping you from living a happy life? If you are reading this, then the answer is probably YES.

Many of us experience Acne to varying degrees. Looking in the mirror, only to see more pimples or blackheads, is a horrible feeling. It is debilitating to say the least. It keeps us confined to our homes and if we must go out in the world, we are constantly aware of what other people are seeing and saying. We more than likely will re-scheduleour outingsso that we can avoid other people as much as possible. Or, we just dont go out, at all! What a sad way to live.

If you are a student, you know how cruel other kids can be. Names like pizza face or pimple popper or worse, can be almost too much to bear. These horrible insults keep many of us in hiding. We choose to stay home in order to avoid those awful hurts.

We have all tried most of the products on the market as well as prescriptions from our doctors. It is very frustrating to get your hopes up only to find that nothing is working for us. The false promises of most of the Acne cures is a real let-down when you try the product(s) and the Acne persists.

The scars from Acne are also a problem. And, the products that claim to eradicate the scars do not deliver the results we need. We want a solution to our problems. Not another pretty package full of nothing.

Acne has been shown to drastically reduce the quality of life of so many people in the world. The people affected dont have the quality of life that a person with clear skin has. We are relegated to our homes in hiding. Hiding from the taunts, the stares, and the hurtful words. We want relief!

Just about everyone will experience acne at some point in their life, though with varying severity and age. There are many things you can do, however, to combat and even prevent breakouts.

The first thing you can do to help prevent the spread of acne is the hardest: do not pop or pick at the acne. This causes the lesions to become inflamed and spreads the bacteria/oil build up. This is also the main action which leads to acne scarring.

Next, knowing that the cause of acne is oil build-up beneath clogged pores, do all you can to prevent both the build-up oil and clogged pores. Be sure to wash your face twice a day with a mild soap and pat dry. Avoid oil based products and irritants such as airborne grease (common is fast food restaurants) and friction (e.g. constant pressure on the face from sports equipment).

Also, prevent acne while you sleep. Before going to bed, be sure to wash your face with a mild soap, especially if you were wearing make-up that day. Other things you can do is make sure your hair is pulled away from your face while you sleep, and wash your pillow cases often.

There are also a handful of medicines that can be prescribed by your doctor. Most are topical treatments that are usually accompanied by moisturizers. In extreme cases, your doctor may prescribe Accutane – a more powerful treatment for acne. Make sure you discuss this option thoroughly with your doctor as this pill has been known to cause birth defects.

Drug store shelves are also lined with many over-the-counter solutions to fighting acne. One of the most common ingredients in these is Benzoyl Peroxide which must be applied for several weeks before its effects can be noticed. Such is the case most acne solutions: do not expect over night results. Prescription and non-prescription solution alike usually take several weeks to months before their effectiveness sets in.

The last thing you can do is adjust your diet to help prevent acne. Though chocolate and pizza do not cause acne (as was commonly believed), a healthy diet can help ward off infections. Also, drinking plenty of water can flush your system of things detrimental to your skin.br

Just as a war has a post-war effect (on the completion of the war), acne healing is not the end of the story. It is the beginning of a new series of efforts to control the scars, and if possible, to obliterate it totally. It is the reformation and rehabilitation process for that particular patch of the skin.

Many people recoup the original health of the skin, without any permanent effects. But many have to suffer disfiguring scars. Topical skin care products and medications can work to some extent, but more efforts and ways and means will be required to find a lasting solution. A combination of surgical procedure and skin resurfacing have to play their part here. There are no other shortcuts or options to it howsoever.

The hyper pigmented mark on the skin, when the acne lesion is healed, should not be mistaken as a scar. At this stage, natural healing process has taken over, a post-inflammatory change. The result may not be immediate, nature is always slow, it goes placidly. The time frame for the scar-vanishing trick, may be anything between 6 to 12 months. If, even then the skin reverts to its original color, take it that you are going to be gifted with a permanent scar, and think of redrawing the plans for its permanent removal, in consultation with a dermatologist.

There are certain practices and medicines that can come in to play to expedite the healing process of the scar:

1. Wearing a good sunscreen is of utmost importance. Exposure to the sun causes damage to the skin and lengthens the process of healing.

2. Skin’s remodeling process is amenable to certain tried and tested medicines. They heal up the post-inflammatory changes. One tested medicine is Tretinoin (Retin A-Renova, Avita).

3. Do not pick scabs under any circumstances. By doing so, you are rendering disservice to your own skin. You are interfering with the healing process of nature. By doing so, you are prolonging your own recovery.

Be realistic about the results. Do not try to achieve the impossible. Such efforts may cause more damage to the skin. No single treatment is right for everyone and your dermatologist knows what is best for you. Remember, treatment is addressed on a case-to-case basis.

No doubt, it is double punishment. Firstly to undergo the pains of recovery from acne and then to be the owner of a scar. Scars are there to remind you constantly and provide questioning room for others. In the ultimate analysis, let the advice and wish of the dermatologist prevail.

Acne Treatment focuses on quick acne cure and avoidance of acne scarring. As acne progresses, the possibility of scarring increases. With surgical and physical procedures doctors hope to bring quick healing to acne. These procedures are mainly performed to drain acne, dry out the oil and reduce the size of sebaceous glands. Let us look at some of these common procedures.

Comedone extraction- in this procedure the blackheads and whiteheads are removed by doctor using sterile instruments. The extraction stops further growth. This procedure may be combined with oral or topical treatment.

Cyst drainage- large cysts are drained and extracted skillfully by doctors to remove the pus, dead cells, sebum and other matter that is accumulated in the large cysts. This prevents cysts from further growth and scar formation is reduced.

Steroid Injection- Sometimes cysts are injected to dry them out with steroid. This gives quick results.

Peeling and dermabrasion- with mild chemical peeling and microdermabrasion, the epidermis is cleaned of dead skin cells, the pores are opened and acne is reduced.

Laser – Diode laser can be used to treat acne.

Light source- some lights such as blue light and green yellow lights are used to kill P.acnes bacteria that creates inflammation in acne. Most of these procedures are used along with topical or oral treatment of acne. The main objective is to treat acne at a stage where scar formation will not take place.

Acne tends to affect most teenagers to some degree. And in most cases, it is a mild temporary condition that is not permanent. But some teenagers develop severe acne problems that dramatically and negatively affect their social and emotional well being. And for some of these individuals, this debilitating condition can turn into a life long problem.

Severe acne problems affect millions of adults. An acne breakout for adults can occur out of nowhere and without any warning and then go away just as easily. But it can also be a serious chronic condition for some sufferers. Severe acne sufferers also have to deal with the embarrassment of unsightly acne scars, which can result in low self esteem issues.

There are hundreds of acne treatments that involve drugs and expensive creams. But they are not designed to treat the underlying conditions that cause acne outbreaks. These expensive remedies treat the symptoms of the disease, not the disease itself.

Many acne remedies are designed to treat the mild temporary acne that primarily affects teenagers. Doctors know that teenage acne is a fleeting problem and, as the teenager enters adulthood, the acne normally goes away. As a result, most doctors treat only the acne, not the underlying condition. Unfortunately, adult acne sufferers know that their acne will return again and again. They know that acne will be a recurring visitor in their life. The expensive treatments the doctors typically prescribe can not cure the disease; it can only treat the symptoms.

If you suffer from severe acne, you also know that serious infections can result. And this sometimes requires powerful and expensive drugs to fight it off. Until recently, there were not many effective tools to deal with severe acne. But now there is a holistic acne treatment than can get rid of acne in just 3 days. Get the details on this amazing acne cure here.
